Dear Father,
Thank you for this day. Not a lot is going on. It’s morning, I forgot devo. So, the struggle.. I’m thinking about abstaining from games again, or at least working very hard to control that part of my life. Honestly, abstaining is so much easier.
People say that dreams are meaningless, something the brain does while we’re asleep to trick our bodies into not moving or waking itself up. I disagree. We have many dreams, in both the New and old Testament, that guided God’s people into doing His will, warning them of danger, comforting them in difficult times.
Now, we know that God’s Word is superior to dreams. You will say, “God doesn’t use dreams any more,” to which I will refer you to the same passage in Joel quoted by Peter in Acts (you can look this up, I’m not going to do it for you).
So, I had a dream, that indicated that something big was going to happen in a few months. I think the date was November 4th. I will have to go back and check. Now, with the Supreme Court decision, things will get a lot harder for Christians. But that’s okay. Jesus predicted this, so we shouldn’t be surprised. Before the rapture, it will get very bad, but it’s been bad around the whole world for my brothers and sisters. So why should we be the exception.
Today I was working on a fiery sermon, and I could sense God saying, ”No, Kelly, that’s not My Will,” It was a feeling, not a voice. You will say that people that hear from God are crazy. So what about Abraham? What about Moses? What about Peter? They were not crazy. Otherwise they wouldn’t have had the effect on history that they did.
Elijah heard the voice of God. The reason people don’t want to believe God can speak isn’t that they believe it is impossible, but because they don’t want to hear what He has to say.
Honestly, if my dream’s right, and I believe it is.. I have a limited amount of time to spend with my friends, family, and pets. I can’t rightly spend this time selfishly on videogames. I love playing with my friends, but I can’t justify it. If this is it, then I have to make this time count. I may wrestle, as I always have, to defeat my demons. Flesh may crop up in unexpected ways. I don’t want to have any regrets in life.
As Paul wrote, ”It is time for judgment to begin with the household of God..” I have run well, learned much, and so.. When you see the finish line in a race, you gather all your strength, and run to win. So, here’s to running with perseverance.
