Replacement Theology

I stopped at an intersection today. I made eye contact with a well-dressed young man. He asked for a donation. I gave him some money and he gave me a periodical. It was basically about Black Islam. Plus replacement theology. The latter is what bothers me.

No one is replacing Israel in God’s plan. The whole Bible is not only the story of mankind’ redemption, but God’s redemption of the nation of Israel. Paul writes in Romans that “Israel has experienced a partial hardening” so that the Gentiles (everyone else) can experience salvation through Jesus Christ. At the end of the Tribulation, the time of Jacob's ’s trouble, all Israel will be saved.

I am attempting to be brief. Replacement theology is just a bad makeover on top of ugly anti-Semitism. I could cite passage after passage to reinforce my argument. But I won't.

If you are an earnest student of the Bible, I think it would be very difficult to believe in replacement theology. But if the Bible's prophesies yet to be fulfilled occur, and they will, no one will believe in replacement theology, particularly after the giant earthquake that levels every city on Earth. “The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins.”
