The Hallmark Dilemma, The Gay Myths

We watch a lot of Hallmark at my house. Christmas movies full of tropes, but also full of deception and problems. You meet someone, but you’re already with someone with whom you are dissatisfied. You shift your emotions and personal investment into a new man, often more attractive, whom you gradually learn to love. Then, you have a misunderstanding, but overcome it, and live happily ever after. All of these things happen in about 1.5 hours, give or take.

Many of the Hallmark lead men are gay. So, why are they kissing and hugging on these women? I know, they’re actors, it’s their job, etc. But could Hallmark hire handsome men who aren’t LGBT? Of course, but then they’re not meeting their metrics, their goals, and pushing sexual immorality on viewers.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not really into women. But I have to point out the incongruities for my own sanity, as a way of processing almost nonstop television watching by my family.

They’ve been pushing the envelope for years, but now with “Red White, and Royal Blue,” they’ve finally brought the undertones into the light. Only it’s lights and camera, and action. This perpetuates a lot of myths about being gay.

Which leads me to the next dilemma. The homosexual fantasy is not really about love. In the media I’ve experienced, grown men have issues with their fathers growing up, leading them to want male attention. As with most things about growing up, this gets twisted into some kind of weird sexual desire. The other fantasy is a power fantasy. I’m dominating this man, I’m superior, I can make him do what I want, etc.

In the second fantasy, the partner either has the personality (and resistance appropriate to) soggy toast. Or somehow they’ve been brainwashed into thinking that semen is delicious and anal sex isn’t at the least uncomfortable, and at the worst painful. The third fantasy is dominating an unwilling partner. I think that the longer people fantasize about theset hings, it tends towards the third one. Look at Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis. People weren’t just getting married and being monogamous. They were preying on travelers for sexual pleasure. If the angels hadn’t been angels, the story would’ve gone much differently. And I contend that for many, that was the case. They wandered into Sodom, not knowing the nature of the culture, and were abused, and often killed. That is why the “outcry against them is great,”

Imagine a city full of women, that somehow gay men wander into. And the women rape and abuse them, and then kill them. Does that give you a bit of perspective? The sin had become so grievous that it was a cancer to those around the city, and getting worse. So God rains fire and brimstone on the city like chemo or radiation to get rid of the cancer.

For those that are unhappy with their same sex attraction, there is almost no help to be had, as counselors and psychologists are unwilling to potentially be sued or go against the grain and lose their livelihood (or worse). Amazon has banned all of the books that could be useful to them. Because apparently anything is okay (unless it goes against the narrative). Even bookstores are pro-gay, pro-witchcraft, pro-anything that isn’t godly. You can worship literally anything or anyone other than God.

You will say,”But they sell bibles, devotionals, Christian books” But where are they in the store? They’re not on endcaps or features to be bought or looked at. They are confined to a specific area of the store like a quarantine wing in a hospital.

Am I arguing morality? Or quoting the parts of the Bible that are obvious and obviously offensive? No. I’m just telling you that the media is lying to you about the nature of homosexuality. Oh, and many gay, lesbian, or trans people often have experienced abuse as children or young adults. But that’s not something that they want the general populaiton to know either.
