Is it a Locust or a Butterfly?

So, I’m struggling with: can I finish this tabletop core book in a reasonable amount of time?

Should I be focusing this much attention on this dream?

Am I focused on God’s Kingdom, or my own?

All these questions and more.

But I feel I need to write this book. Not just for the mechanics, but for the second half, in which I will, LW, make a flood of content based on my writings and comics. At least the stuff that’s compatible. One thing I have is multiple cosmologies. I think I could, as a DM, in a modern setting, use our timeline, the appearance of Jesus as Messiah (and his crucifixion and resurrection). But for fantasy worlds, or alien worlds, it may just be part of the second Heaven. I guess that’s why they are called “Heavens”, in this case referring to a physical planet or perhaps realm.

So I’ve got a very loose timeline for the modified “Earth,” And after Christ sets up his kingdom, we add other realms. Or alternatively, set them parallel time, but maybe a different dimension, with added cosmology.

And while I’m thinking this, I’m expecting Christ’s return, in my lifetime. Now, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to plan as though He comes after. But I get the strange sense that, He is standing at the gate/doorway to our world. That He will move the instant the Father says, ”Go!” There’s no way of knowing if I’m right or not. I just get a sense of urgency about being about the Father’s business. We won’t know when Jesus will come, only that He said, ”I am coming quickly,” at the end of Revelation. And if you put a bookmark right before the part of Revelation that hasn’t happened yet, you will see that you have at most a centimeter in a book that spans two or so inches (depending on maps and things at the back of the book).

When we talk about metamorphosis in nature, there are more things that experience metamorphosis than butterflies. We like the butterflies, but locusts, tadpoles, and many insect experience metamorphosis. Christians often think of butterflies when we think of the resurrection. That we sleep in the earth “cocoon”, and then when Christ comes, we get our perfected bodies. And I know we will bear the image of Emmanuel, who has a perfected body. He was able to walk through walls, disguise himself so as to not be recognized, and we have the apocalyptic vision of how Christ looks in Revelation Chapter 1.

The bible talks about our bodies being like seeds. You plant it in the ground, but the plant that grows doesn’t look much like the seed. I don’t know yet, but one day I will. Butterfly wings might be nice, but I think I will appreciate what Christ chooses for me much more.
